Paul Smith completed his articles with a boutique Alberta law firm and worked as an associate at a regional Alberta law firm prior to joining McCuaig Desrochers LLP as an associate in October 2023.
He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree with Distinction from the University of Alberta in 2016 and his Juris Doctor from the University of Alberta in 2021. During law school, Paul volunteered with Student Legal Services under the Civil/Family Law Project, organized a fundraiser for the Sports and Entertainment Law Society and volunteered with 1L orientation for incoming law students.
Paul represented the University of Alberta at the Hockey Arbitration Competition of Canada and was a volunteer high school basketball coach for 2 seasons. Paul is a member of the Law Society of Alberta and the Canadian Bar Association.Outside of work, Paul enjoys golfing, lifting weights, watches and reading.
